whats on yer desktop wallpaper? (2 Viewers)

Sir John Lavery is one of my all time favorite Irish artists. This pic has been on my desktop for the last three months. The model in this (and many other of his works) is his Chicagoan wife, Hazel Lavery. Next time you're in Belfast, stop in at St. Patrick's Church to see her portrayed as the so-what-does-it-matter-if-I-am-or-not virgin Mary. It's part of an amazing triptych on the left wall if you're facing the front. Her she is not being Mary, just being beautiful.

Pretty much the single greatest creative musical talent this country has ever produced. You don't know what you're missing out on.

Also did i mention that i'm a compulsive liar?

Ah, the story about the Glyph! That takes me wayyyy back.
Bet you liked Ace Trucking Co. as well, but who didn't. I loved the character GBH!

Pirate Guy: "What are you going to do to me?"

GBH: "A number of things, some of them extremely painful."

£60 Sterling each.

More than I have to spend, but fuck's sake, its the goddamn original artwork...its THE page itself, you know? Had to get it.

The Glyph was my favorite character...

I wanted this one...it has EVERYONE in it! Check it out.

The Glyph in the top three panels BREAKS MY HEART!

To see the others that are available you go to http://www.2000adonline.com/?zone=collector&page=artindex

but you need to log onto the site first to view them...

This is the one my friend got.

It's the most terrifyingly shite act EVER to come out of Ireland.
Basically managed to sell [whatever number/] of singles, based on the fact that the Irish word for 'word' is 'focail', and he puts a stress on the first syllable, making it sound to someone who doesn't know Irish that the song is full of the word 'fuck'. Apparently this is ecstatically hilarious to some people, mostly drunken idiot-fucks shouting it at the top of their voices, roaming free and unfettered through Temple Bar at 4 in the morning.
For this, and many other horrific social travesties inflicted upon a beleaguered nation, he still as yet has not received the death penalty, or even a bloody good kicking.
