What you been listening to this week? (1 Viewer)

Yes, it's great. I've only recently started listening to him. I am very much in love with that song Free Will And Testament in spite of the presence of Weller. And those Domino reissues are beautifully done and reasonably priced. Gimme some pointers about which one to get next ...
Well, my favourite is Dondestan but not the Revisited version which seems to be the standard issue now.

I really like the 80s/90s stuff - commie loner keyboard stuff. From shleep onwards it got jazzier and more band focused and mostly not as good.

been listening to the two Women albums again a lot this week. 2 10/10 albums. fucking great. (spawned by the news that two former members are now playing in a band called Viet Cong. album streaming over on npr). haven't gotten around to listening to it in full. what with all the listening to the older stuff

what's this like? i have a couple of kang CDs - live low to the earth in the iron age (which is great) & the recent tzadik one (which i haven't given proper attention to yet).

Its the second one that they have done together I think Jessika Kenney does the vocal parts which is maybe like some kind of classical singing i.e not really lyrics but haunty minimalist stuff ?

I love it, the singing is fantastic. I presume she's singing in persian but I'm not sure. The first side is a couple of long songs, the second half is more improvy/experimental (and not as good). I missed their gig in Whelans because I got the dates mixed up
