My point was that Nazis occupy a specially demonised position, and their trappings seem guaranteed to receive a negative response within the 'scene', whereas symbols of an equally-authoritarian ideology with much more blood on its metaphorical hands seem much more accepted.

commies and yuppies with the stickel on their shirts dont go around beating the shit out of minorities.. nowadays. nazis, (or people who think they're nazis) do.

also, communism isnt a fundamentally wrong/bad ideal. its about a collective economy. nazism is about rascism, nationalism, and hating. HATING!!!

in fact, safer just to make no jokes at all.

Tell that to the Tibetans.

And when was the last time Yakuza ever beat the shit out of a minority?

in all fairness how the hell would someone know that some band that isn't hugely well known otuside the underground scene aren't nazis? man you really seem to be basing ur ideas on so many assumptions that people immediately all get irony or sarcasm, they don't.

Authoritarian communism however is a fundamentally wrong/bad ideal - in order to create the collective economy it employs a methodology of force to break up sub-national communities (read 'Jews') and destroy their separate culture/society so that only one collective can exist.

if someone goes to a gig where all the bands are in fancy dress and doesn't cop that the band dressed as hitlers aren't really nazis...well they must be awful thick!

I think the fact that the picture was taken on Halloween when the band were playing with other bands who were also wearing costumes was probably a pretty big clue that the uniform didn't indicate that Yakuza actually wanted to be Nazis. Are we also going to have a witch hunt now about the Killing Spree actually wanting to have all their flesh removed?

boss jesus the reality is some people don't even know that an indie or a punk scene exists, the lower deck always used to get randomers coming in and all im saying is maybe just maybe once in a while we could realise a world exists outside our little ghettos

I was talking about western Europe.

Did I say that?
I know Yakuza arnt nazis. They're just a group of lads havin a good aul laugh.

So, it is okay for the Western European communists to actually support an ideology which contains an implicit persecution of minorities, but it isn't okay for Yakuza to mock and ridicule a similar ideology?
