got a stash of classical records from work there last week - they were gonna throw them out. i didnt recognize any of the stuff really so grabbed a fairly random bundle but i got lucky with a record of music by John Ireland. Violin Sonata no.2 in A minor is on side one and its just piano and violin, side 2 has a few pieces for piano and clarinet. side two in particular is amazing - it has a beautiful live recording sound and even though its all scored it has the vibe of a jazz album - something a bit like mellow pharoah sanders except sparser... anyway, ive been listening to it repeatedly for the last few days
