hafler trio + jonsi birgisson: exactly as i am (again. the first cd is superb, really spacious and lovely. second cd, birgissons' voice forms a long crystaline drone which changes subltely in timbre, pleasant but not quite as impressive as the first disc)
peaches: teaches of peaches (tacky but i do enjoy it quite a bit regardless)
the conscious daughters: gamers (fantastic and very original female hip hop)
mystic: cuts for luck and scars for freedom (more superb female rap, this is very moving, harrowing and completely bullshit-free)
mirror: figures in a landscape (double vinyl release of the "into the wood" and "live at bern" cdrs. as pleasant and peaceful as ever)

yah, it's a peach of an instant pleaser... i did find i needed to stop listening to it over and over after about 5 times. the other 2 lasted at least 10 times before i felt like that about them.

Minotaur Shock - Maritime - wicked.

Anyone see them at Sonar a few years ago - more novelty then but still a hoot.

Dare one say it but I've heard 'Music from the 4th Place' - a collaborative effort with Mark 'Maniac' McCabe. Far more ambitious than anyone would give him credit for.

They're oldies but both Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster records are still playing furiously on the stereo and pod.

Burial - Burial (Hyperdub)
- Actually lives up to the hype. Best electronic album I've heard in years. Don't even consider buying it unless your speakers are capable of handling serious sub.
