Low budget Irish drama about a foreign woman illegally brought to Dublin to work as a prostitute
but she escapes into the seedy underworld and is helped by a local rogue with a heart of gold.
I mainly watched it because it has a young, gorgeous Ruth Negga in it, (her debut, I think) but ,its a very good film with top notch acting.

Close Up in the IFI yesterday.

The true story of Hossain Sabzian, a cinephile who impersonated the director Mohsen Makhmalbaf to convince a family they would star in his so-called new film.

First time I saw this I new the general plot but I didn't realize (as is written in basically everything about the film) that...

all the characters are their actual selves and that it's a mix of re-enactments and actual trial footage, I thought they were all actors.

I loved it so much I was afraid to watch it again in case I didn't like it as much but it's so good. That last scene is incredible

During the week I rewatched Arrival and then Twelve Monkeys as I enjoy a good time twister. The latter inspired me to rewatch The 5th Element last night. Great fun and the effects still looks great almost 30 years (!) on.

Tragedy porn about a wedding day spoiled by death. Very good, mad ending.

Blood for Dust. Noirish thriller set in the 90s about an out of work salesman who becomes a drug mule. Starts promising, with a decent performance from Kit Harrington playing against type, but goes nowhere and the shootout scenes are among the least exciting action scenes I've ever seen.
