Crimson Peak. Really enjoyed it. Lovingly crafted gothic horror with a powerhouse performance from Jessica Chastain, my future wife.

The Lobster. Loved it. Nothing like what I was expecting. What a funny, odd little film.

I watched Days Of Heaven earlier. Amazing. Every shot in it is gorgeous.

Sicario - excellent Narco thriller. One of the best of the year so far.

The Treatment - brutal Belgian noir.

Cop Car - cracking indie comedy thriller. Kevin Bacon at his creepy best.

I watched Crimson Peak.

It was enjoyable but it hadn't a fucking clue what it was trying to say about anything, completely out of control with its imagery and themes.

It all looked so amazing though!

Deeply silly though, no?

Like when they showed who killed the dude at the sink, like it was a big reveal. We KNOW that's who did it, we're not thick.
A lot of very beautiful running around with a very bog standard plot and almost no mystery to it.

I felt like it would have been fine just as a gothic murder mystery, without the supernatural element. CGI ghosts just aren’t scary.
