Apostle ...... Steer well clear of this one. A fiasco.

Sorry To Bother You. Surreal anti-capitalist dark comedy about a black tele-sales worker who finds increasing success at a sinister corporation by cold calling people using a “white” phone voice. I liked this a lot

I enjoyed this well enough. But I know people that really hated it. The biggest criticism seems to be that it's pretending to be something that it's not; I.e. A cliche ridden torture fest masquerading as folk-horror.

I can see why people thought that but I didn't think it was too misleading. The trailer hints at the brutality to come and you could argue that something like The Witchfinder General combined elements of folk horror and torture porn 60 years ago so it's not exactly new.

True. As I say, I enjoyed it for what it was, but am curious as to why others really, really disliked it.

I finally watched The Plague Dogs. Fuck me. If you thought Watership Down was too light-hearted and When The Wind Blows was just too cheery, then this is for you.

I watched Hereditary again because I wanted my missus to see it. Great on second viewing- and I appreciated all the foreshadowing of things to come, but the fact she started having a conversation with the cat during one of the most nightmarish scenes makes me think she didn't feel the same way.
