What movie did you watch last night? (25 Viewers)

Yeah, I'd go along with that. I was expecting maybe a star or two more, given the reviews though. Texas looked dystopian!
The four leads performances are so natural then there are a whole bunch of stock characters that just feel like they're in a film - the casino hooker, the ex wife, the bank manager. I enjoyed it overall but feel like the reviewers are creaming their shorts a bit over this one.

the climactic shootout is ace. Loved all the tooled up good old boys from the bank giving chase

Yeah, none of that (the minor stuff) was convincing - nothing we haven't seen before. But the leads were great alright - and your spoiler too!

Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. Directed by Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liasons, The Grifters , High Fidelity and My Beautiful Launderette)

Didn't think I would like this movie because of Hugh Grant. Excellent performances from both leads in a film that will have you laughing out loud and pulling at your heart strings. Simon Helberg (Howard from Big Bang Theory) is very funny playing the esteemed world class pianist who plays to Florence s grotesque singing voice.

What!?!?

That movie us easily in my top 10 films of all time and is my favorite David Lynch movie.
Same here. It's incredible, I definitely can see why one might cry "bollocks!" but there's so much going on, and on so many levels, that I think I could watch it weekly forever if it wasn't for the serious case of anti-Lynch sentiment in this house.

Captain Fantastic - so so, enjoyable enough
The Beatles - Eight Days a Week - fantastic
then at home I watched Hitchcock/Truffaut which was terrific

The Shallows. Ticked a lot of my boxes. Namely Blake Lively in a bikini fighting a giant killer shark.

Watched this a night or two ago about a jewish family living in suburban America of the 1960s maybe. Basically a dysfunctional family going through various rights of passage, suppose comedy that is a bit dark.
