--------------- "Do you have anything besides Mexican food?"

Lucky
(reading telegram)
"Three Amigos, Hollywood, California. You are very great. One hundred thousand pesos to come to Santa Poco. Put on show. Stop. The infamous El Guapo."

Ned
What does that mean? "In-famous"?

Dusty
In-famous is when you're more than famous.

Lucky
This man El Guapo is not just famous, he's in-famous.

Hehe. I've been tempted for a while now.

Will have to go on the record shelves.

Must have been one hell of a heavy box?

They arrived in a gigantic box (about 10x bigger than it needed to be. Think of the trees, Amazon) but they're not that heavy, maybe 1kg for all three. Design is lovely too, each set has a bound introduction by David Parkinson and a satin ribbon to pull the DVDs out of the box.

Amazon packaging is overkill a lot of time. Especially Amazon USA.
They used a 10" x 6" box approx for two CDs last week.

Although for the likes of Heimat you need it to be well boxed to avoid damage.
Play.com leave a lot to be desired in that department.

each of my LOTR 5 DVD + statue box sets arrived in their original box, wrapped in padding in a big cardboard box, tied up in a post bag about the size of a bin liner.

yeah, overkill.

did you watch a whole lot in one go or are you going to space them out?

I just watch TV on DVD once a week like it was originally shown. I can't do multiple episode marathons.
I don't know yet. I have vague plans to watch each series in one sitting (bathroom and snack breaks notwithstanding) and then take a few days to digest it before kicking off the next one, but I can't bring myself to stay indoors for 16 hours watching a screen if the weather's good, so it's a bit up in the air at the moment. One a week is out of the question, the concept of patience is alien to me.

we're (finally!) currently working our way through the sopranos box sets, so not seen anything but that this week.

only getting through about 3 or 4 episodes a night, though, so we're only halfway through season 2.

gonna be a long haul... might take a break at the halfway point at watch Band of Brothers for a bit of light relief.

Really?

Once I've started watching a series of Six Feet Under, nothing short of a natural disaster can drag me away from the couch.

It's not just Six Feet Under, it's any programme.

The schedule helps me get through the DVD backlog easier.

I'll start The Wire Season 1 in a few weeks, once The Rockford Files finishes. Sunday nights.

haha

some prick has spammed my blog

Hi, i was looking over your blog and didn't

Last night was a rake of beer and two classics I hadn't seen before.

Ghost in the shell http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113568/

Great looking. Cool action and story. Maybe I'd built it up too much but
it seemed to have an extended episode feel rather than an epic cinematic
scope about it. Still really enjoyed it though. Cyborg breasts rock.

Suspiria http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076786/

Really cool. Beautifully shot and amazing use of colour. Nicely ridiculous
and funny in places. Was expecting more gore but what there was was cool.
And who'd have that crazy old shoe lover was causing all the bother.
