I did have a listen to some of Yeesus, I was impressed with the "sound pallete" I could be wrong, but he seems to have a much broader range, sonically than most commercial hip hop producers. There's definitely a lot of anger in what he does.

There is. He is quite angry for an upper middle class child of a professor of English.

I revisited Yeezus lastnight. Lou reed is right about the transitions being really good.

I put on 'Naam' from Soundways Ghana Soundz vol 2 after (its on spotify) and had a start realisation that kayne is good in the sphere of what he has put himself in, but he's not brilliant, or amazing as music itself. not to the level of visibility he is at anywhoo.
