want to use it as a splitter as well as a tuner so both outputs must work

There's one on adverts for 50 euro, better off with the TU3 if you care about accurate tuning. Most people don't though.

I do care about accurate tuning, but not all the time

Crackly outputs are an easy peasy fix if you don't find another grab that one and I'll sort it for ya. If you got it for 40 I could fix it for ya.

I thought there was supposed to be phasing problems or some crap with using a pedal as a splitter? And of course then you had to buy some fancy splitter box.

Phase issues can happen with any splitter that doesn't have a phase reverse switch or some phase adjustment and most don't have that, it's also pretty easy to reverse the phase by switching the hot and cold at one end of one of the speaker leads. TU2 is better than most cheap splitters as it buffers both signal paths.

You should try it.

I have a TU-3 and it eats batteries so not sure I'd want to use it as a splitter without a power supply.
