VLC media player (1 Viewer)

cant get vlc media player to work on OSX
anyone know of any similar players that will work on a mac?

compuder freeze's when i try install it.
seems to only be a problem for a certain version of osx.

I know the previous version (0.7.0) ran on OS X 10.1 - 10.4.3 with no problems. Maybe you have an old/corrupt vlc plist file floating around somewhere? I had to dump mine and reinstall before, and it worked perfectly afterwards.

0.8.4 craps out on me when I try to transcode videos.
Plays fine though.
