My mate has a memory stick that is not being detected after insertion. The odd time when it is detected it doesn't appear in 'my computer' or disk managment. There's no hope for the stick but does anyone know if there's heads around who can retrieve data from them? There was some pretty important stuff on it. cheers

ahm, maybe it is fucked but i had a similar problem and the stick wasn't getting recognized because the computer was assigning it the same name as another drive...

this happened me before. it could be a virus that spreads through usb sticks. it is fixable tho. google usb virus or something.
