Before I was hoping that he'd not die, I'm not sure exactly why, I felt that it would militarize the crazies or somehow make things worse. I was thinking that he'd just ramble through being his normal lazy self, and nothing much would happen.
He does seem to be at least handing things off to people who are breaking things at a rate that surprises me.
I also thought he was somehow immune to death, a bit like Kissinger. Kissinger's still dead, I just checked. For some reason, yeah, it occurred to me that maybe he could croak, and then what. I suspect it would lessen the rate of deterioration, but then I'm caring less about all of this too.
They're shit. We get it. No one's going to do anything about it. Let's just forget about it.
The author of that piece may be correct in thinking that electoral politics aren't the right vehicle to build a sustainable left wing movement in America, but having a go at Sanders for not having single-handedly developed a viable network of alternative institutions seems a bit unfair..saw this being reshared on bluesky. it reads like more of that 'the other part of the left isn't doing enough' stuff that crops up all the time.
