o i seen it years ago. john sayles doesnt really do it for me - sunshine state, limbo.....dunno.....liked lone star tho:) and as for the secret of roan inish....

Lone star is amazing. Haven't seen the secret of Roan Inis, but wanna check it out, heard the haskell wexler photography is goood.

good movie, great book.

Actually the author conceded that the film was better!

Atom Egoyan in general is overlooked. The unravelling nature of his narratives is cinematic poetry. 'Exotica' also.

'The Swimmer' is good. The last scene makes it though. From a Cheever short story.

Yes, Charlie. Sunshine State is uneven, Limbo has an almost Faulkner-style narrative that takes hold after a while, but I liked it. You will not see a better sports film than 'Eight Men Out' though.

'Mysterious Skin' one of the best films of last year. Devastating.

Can't believe this wasn't mentioned yet! I know there's a few fans of it here. Feel good hit. Tom Dicillo's best film? This
poster seriously confuses me. Dermot Mulroney has a tiny part playing a jerk-off mechanic. Sam Rockwell is the joint lead! WTF?!

Two gems, which were actually t.v movies for the bbc from director Mike Leigh. They've been on the ifi at some stage over the last few years.
They both feature brilliant British actors. They are
both cringefully, minute-observation funny. They're a more tedious but true look on British life.
