Are they just mini guitars , same tuning, chords etc?

To be honest I've only been dicking around on it and don't have it set out properly. It's not really the same as a guitar but i'm able to make a lot of headway with geetar techniques. The tuning is different for sure, I really need to get a book on it though and find out more. Tis only a cheap one I got as well like.

there's a pedal steel "in need of repair" in that shop
across from the jervis st centre at the moment.

he wants "about 200" for it. when i asked exactly how
much repair it needs, he said something smart like
"about 4" (??) - so i opened it up and it's a hardcase
full of random bits of metal, which may or may not
combine to form a pedal steel. it was a bit hard to tell.

i love that shop!
