i remember them from a really scary pic from the 1981 guinness book of records i had as a kid and the picutre of the 'biggest crab in the world' used to freak the bejayzus out of me.

it is a spider crab.... crabs are dealable but sweet jesus a giant SPIDER crab?!!

I saw a spider crab corpse in the Natural History Museum t'other day. It was terrifying but was ultimately overshadowed by the horror of the shrunken human heads in the Museum of Anthropology.
