I vote for everyone voting for 5 to 20 albums and then picking one at random. If something is popular it's likely to get picked and if it's picked twice then we have to discuss it again.

If we all submit 10 albums it'll be a huge database to choose from and not just "those pricks from thumped have to hear this" which will be everyone's top 1-5. Remove duplicates and its chosen at random each week.

we each pick 10 albums. This will result in a big list of all our choices, some duplicates, some not. And one gets picked from the list at random each week.
