Not for any ecumenical reason, more for work reasons. The other day a lad cut through a live electrical cable, dropped a steel sheet, thankfully onto no one, and some other mistake that I wouldn't expect of him. All within half an hour.

He was shook, I was shook, I said "man, what's going on here? Another person might send you home". he said "I can't blame the fasting, but it is the last week". I didn't even know he was a fasting kinda guy. Ramadan is now?? I didn't even know.

It's worth knowing these things.

Further top tip, if you are fond of things like figs and samosas, it is worth making some Muslim friends and knowing what time Iftar is.

I've seen members of Faith no More and members of Danzig eating in different branches of Beshoffs.

I also saw Martin McGuinness eating in Burger King, and Ronan Keating eating in Eddie Rockets.

just to clarify, he wasn't the last surviving member of the crew when he founded beshoff's. he was the last member of the crew to die (aged 104).

we spotted marty whelan in a restaurant in malahide this evening, on our way back to the car to eat our fish and chips there.
and watched a lad walk straight into our car because he didn't see it, he was so engrossed in his phone.

Toasters are juicy.

It seems extremely obvious now, but I didn't realise that our four slice toaster sucks up about 1500 watts if it wants to. Heat requires energy of course, but it just didn't come together in my head that those little filaments need that much power. Until now, at 41 years and 300 and something days old.
It was good craic earlier when one housemate tripped the gaff by making tea and all the toasted hot cross buns.
