Ketchup doesn't have to be made from tomatoes it more a generic name for cold sauces - it's more correct to say Tomato Ketchup.

I never used to but they recently took all the preservatives out of it so it does go manky if you leave it in the cupboard - or so I'm told. I don't really believe it, sorta...
