I was on my thumped holiday for that thread. Just caught up, mazin'

Just overall, what is wrong with a band trying to promote themselves in any way they can?

If you're going to promote yourself find a way to promote yourself so you don't come across like a total bellend. No one has ever been impressed by those ridiculous bios bands put up on their website.

Here's the bio for a staff-writer on the bloody New Yorker -

Amy Davidson is a senior editor at The New Yorker. She has been at the magazine since 1995, writes the Close Read blog for its website, and has contributed to its pages. Davidson grew up in New York City and graduated from Harvard. Before joining The New Yorker she lived and worked in Germany.

Bands should follow that model imho

At the end of the day though the marketing by these lads worked, I gave them a listen.

The ones where a member of the band pretends to be a fan are the best " Hey have you heard this great new band?" " I saw these guys last night and they rocked" etc
