i've met 5 or 6 peeps who seen them live and all rave about them.

I've heard they're good live, but i also heard that the kings of leon were supposed to be good live, as were slipknot and none of that was true.
Listened to the album a couple of times and it did absolutly nothing for me.

I like the album, but I can see where you are coming from. The thing about the album is that a lot of the tracks have been recorded with the DFA as co-writers (this is why it was released 6 months later than it should have been) so live they are a different prospect.

The rapture - the black eyes its not cool to like.

NY producers James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy, they release records as The LCD soundsytem (first single 'Losing my edge' is probably my favourite song of the last year or so) and release stuff on their own label - http://www.dfarecords.com/DFA.html

DFA have helped them forge a new sound, but they were well able to make exciting music before they collaborated with them - I saw them after Out of the Races And Onto the Tracks came out when they had just added a saxophonist and it was thrilling stuff.
