Any fans of the comic strip 'Prince Valiant'? If so, you might have seen Rory's image in recent weeks on the strip as the wandering minstrel Gallchobar. We can thank Thomas Yeates, the strips current illustrator for his inclusion:

"Prince Valiant is a long running Sunday newspaper comic strip. He’s a knight in King Arthur’s court and I am the current illustrator, Mark Schultz is the current writer. I’ve been to Ireland, love the place, the people and history and legends. I also love Rory Gallagher so when Val traveled to Ireland recently I couldn’t resist putting Rory in the strip.

Prince Valiant has played a stringed instrument, maybe an Irish bouzouki, many times throughout his many adventures so the scene where they play together made sense. My friend and Rory contemporary Pete Sears also joins in on the jam playing the elbow pipes. Rory first appears in the Aug. 25 2024 strip, Prince Valiant #4568, then off and on until the Dec.22 strip when they say farewell." -- Thomas Yeates
