Bio:

The Murder of Rosa Luxemburg (2002-?)

The Murder Of… we’re born in Worcester over the summer of 2002 by seven musicians bored of the constraints of their local music scene. Quickly gaining a reputation for their frantic live shows, the Murder Of set about recording their first set of songs. Recorded in one afternoon, these songs became the first TMORL 7”, released on Speedowax Records.
By the summer of 2003, the opportunity had arisen to record a debut album. ‘Everyone’s in Love and Flowers Pick Themselves’ was recorded and engineered by Joe Gibb, and released in the winter of that year by Undergroove records. The album was recorded as a concept, following the tales of an old man, battling with his conscious and subconscious during his final years.
2003 also saw The Murder Of… embark on their first tour, with Million Dead and Jarcrew, followed swiftly by a full UK tour with Army of Flying Robots.
In the present day, and line up changes later, The Murder Of are in the process of writing for a new 7” to be released over the summer. Taking a more melodic, jazz influenced line, a tour has just been completed in the UK with Circle Takes the Square (as well as support slots to Lightning Bolt and Hella), with future tours of Ireland, Europe, as well as a full tour in the Autumn with Minus the Bear. The band also hope to start work on their second full length album later on in the year.

MORL have also shared the stage with the likes of:
Cat On Form, Vuur, Narcosis, Wolves, Transistor Transistor, Paper Cut Out, Kaospilot, The Paper Chase, Keelhaul, etc etc etc..

what the papers say:

"If corporate rock is spoon-fed to the masses then tonight comes like a rusted pitchfork hurled from an oncoming train. But somewhere between this murderous clash of sound versus stamina there’s aural delight to be had, and the crowd is loving every moment" - Kerrang Live Review

"We’re all buried in layers of beautiful noise. Unintelligible vocals rattle eerily through an achingly long delay as the band squeeze out filthy post-punk like a rutting Rapture. It’s so dark in here we’re forced to just listen and hideous, wondrous sound fills the imagination…" - NME Live Review

"As polished as glass yet pricklier than a knife-filled mattress, these boys are wild!" - Roundsound album review (included in top 50 albums of 2003)

"The Flowers Pick Themselves' is a literate dose of clever, avant-garde insanity for those who don't mind their art rock with big capital A-R-s." - Metal Hammer album review

"This has been the hardest record I've listened to in a long time, it's also been the most rewarding and the most musically challenging. It's not often a band come along that totally blow your head off with their sheer quality but on that count, this band have won hands down." - Planet Loud album review

yr a few months late with that request boyo... sure limerick is reachable distance, no?

Did you get the cd alright!?
Anyways - its the Boatclub, on Sarsfield Bridge - literally on the bridge.
Pier One(Bar/hotel) is on the left before the bridge, and Dunnes Stores is on the right before the bridge(as you head out the Ennis road).
The club is down steps on your left when your on the bridge - you`ll see it anyway.
Wish i had a map - useless at giving directions.

they are bringing no one but themselves, sorry.

cos theres loads of other gigs in dublin around this time and crowds seem to rapidly decline when such circumstances occur. bray's only a dart ride away.

its a pretty unusual tour in that they're playing charleville and derry. hopefully will lead to more tours outside the usual limerick/cork/belfast/dublin circuit.

starts around 9pm, over by 11.15, right beside the dart station, easy as piss to get to, plus you get to look out at the sea when your having a smoke outside the venue.

i would love to be at that gig with weapons of mass destruction. the two bands seem so different i wonder if it'll work
