The end of Sonic Youth? (1 Viewer)

Apparently Kim is dishing the dirt in a new book

Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon to reveal what it's like to be a 'Girl in a Band' in new book

The book is set to be titled "Girl in a Band" and will reportedly chronicle "Gordon’s decision to leave her native Los Angeles for New York to pursue a life as an artist, the formation of Sonic Youth in post-punk New York of the early 1980s, her marriage to band mate Thurston Moore, Sonic Youth’s mentoring of young bands like Nirvana, Hole and many others, and the eventual dissolution of the relationship and her band."

thought big T might pick some more stuff i didn't know.
have heard at about 30 of these songs before and heard something by all
of these artists at some stage.
apart from the Boredoms and Tapper Zukie all the rest were American or British.
anyway i'd have picked a load of old songs myself and i've heard him talk about
many of these artists before.
remember the box of John Peel's favourite singles ?
there was loads of oddball things in that with lots 60's RnR instrumentals, obscure
reggae etc but not so here.

here's Nardwuar's interview (part 2) with SONIC YOUTH from 1991.
Thurston and Lee are being bullies here (and they thought this was funny ?)

Listening to Dirty for the first time in aaaages and it’s a lot better than my memory of it would suggest. I remember it being a bit of a bland comedown after what came previously. Well I’m only three tracks in so maybe it goes downhill from here.

The album held up but started dragging a little at the end. Last song was fun though.

Now listening to Daydream Nation for the 1000000000000000000000th time and it’s still deadly.

I just stuck Dirty on there..havent listened to it in years . So much reverb

Sounds great though
