Yo,

Sunday, I intend to go to the Blessington basin to take a look at it.
While in that neck of the woods, what is else is worth looking at of a Sunday afternoon? The Northside isn’t all syringes and tracksuits and the bleedin’ fordins is it? Is it?
Enrich me with your knowledge of the city please…

The Hugh Lane and The Writers Museum in PArnell Square. Worth a look, like. Both of them.

Just go to Howth and walk up and down the pier

or St. Anne's Park

Or the Radio Museum in the Martello Tower. Best place ever. The hardest part about making my radio thingy is that the guy who runs that is so, so definitely, 100% guaranteed to outshine everyone else. Doesn't seem fair. But it's true. Him, and some of the fellas from the Transport Museum (also in Howth).

I really like living on the Northside. It's an underappreciated gem, so it is. We have the aZoo, Glasnevin Cemetary, the Phoenix Park, The Casino at Marino, Croker, a daycent proportion museums and galleries - it's just a shame the Chamber of Horrors is no more.

If you're driving go to Ardgillen in Skerries. Beautiful park by the sea.
Donabate, Malahide and Portmarnock beaches are all worth a trek.
Howth as said above is fantastic.
Swords is the antechamber of boredom. Although it does have the castle, Clock tower & Round Tower and stuff like that. The castle is a building site at the minute.

Glasnevin cemetery and Botanic gardens are great. Go for a scoop in Gravediggaz afterwards. My goodness, such nice guinness.

Thanks guyz,

I've actually been to most of the places mentioned, go me.
Botanic gardens have my favourite squirrels in all of Dublin.
I'd love to go to the zoo but it's so damn expensive. Might have a trek through Pheonix park. It's in Dublin 8 though, almost the Southside!

Also, I is John, stop writing tags for everything.

the zoo is 12 or 15 quid. how is that damn expensive? you can spend all day in there looking at monkeys - bargain if you ax me.

but srsly flks, i'm 30 yrs on the northside and the best place is still the top of deerpark hill. the view is amazing. i used to mitch off school and spend the whole day there. it's a tough enough walk but worth it.

also, go to the hamburger bar just off the seafront on the way up to donaghmede. if you find a better snack box anywhere in the world, i'd like to taste it!

I lived on the northside for a few years and it does have some lovely spots. It's just a shame a lot of the locals ruin it.
