part of the northside i love is just beside the canal in Phibsboro. There's a little estate with cottages facing the canal. It's really peaceful, there's swans there and the view across to the cemetery and Finglas is rather great.
If heading the city centre it's on your right at the canal, past those old mill apartments.

I really like living on the Northside. It's an underappreciated gem, so it is. We have the aZoo, Glasnevin Cemetary, the Phoenix Park, The Casino at Marino, Croker, a daycent proportion museums and galleries - it's just a shame the Chamber of Horrors is no more.

It does still exist, it's just called Northside Shopping Centre now.

One thing I have noticed a lot of southsiders know about is the strawberry beds. bedrock of my childhood, I'm always amazed when people have no idea where or what it is. Me and stan still use it regular-like to avoid traffic on the N4. And it's very pretty.

Botanic gardens have my favourite squirrels in all of Dublin.

St Annes park the Raheny side near the village has far more Squirrels and they are more friendlier. .|..|

Well, in the end we went to Blessington Basin for a few minutes on the Saturday, while Sunday was filled by walking around Glasnevin Cemetary.
I didn’t find any of the graves I was looking for, so we’ll have to go back, but it was a pretty good weekend all in all.

went to college on the northside though - Ballymun Polytechnic (aka DCU)
