In recording brain activity at sample rates up to 200 kHz (CDs typically being 44 kHz for comparison), I use copper wiring that is pretty basic with absolutely no deterioration of signal. Weirdly, this high end cable mumbo-jumbo seems to be strangely absent in the notoriously inaccurate and careless world of precision biomedical science.
