I haven't listened to this in a long time, but it came up today, as me and the neighbour were looking at a particularly nice bit of driftwood on the water there. It's Original Pirate Material, I said, absent mindedly.
Love that album, he said.
Then we skanked about for a few seconds. Other guy was happy for us, but very confused. He didn't know where his aerial was, never mind how or why to lock it down.

Jesus. Haven't heard that one in maybe 35 years. Taped it from the radio years even before that.
I only realised those Nervous Animals were from Sligo over 20 years after this came out. Thought it was some Brit jazz funk band .
Was a staple of Irish day time radio for a long time - into the 90's at least.
 
I foolishly went for a quite night in the pub and a couple of pints. Wrong pub. There was only seven people there, but at least four of them are loons.
They played ten Bowie songs in a row. So I was given hold of the iPad and played this:

Unbeknownst to me, there was one Kiwi in the room. He spun round "who the fuck put this on!?"
Everyone points at me. I say it's because of Bowie. He liked it actually.

As the night wore on, other nare-do-wells showed up. The playlist continued playing Flight of the Conchords. And genuinely, not one of them noticed. They really enjoyed it. Interesting to observe. They all thought they were listening to cool nu toons, instead of twenty year old comedy music.

It was a lockdown thing I suppose, but I do like these lads. They just popped up on me youtoobs there. I prefer Tornado of Souls, which they also review, but it's cool to see them just "get it".
