I think Bojinov's been unfortunate at City, looked decent in Italy. They've got plenty going forward.

now now, lets not get premo-centric here. petrov has been around for yonks. i for one remember him being pretty good in euro 2004. best of a really fucking bad bunch. and berbatov was pretty hot shit for leverkusen back in the day. the german day. but like you say, what else have bulgaria got? bobby michailov? i think not. where's the guenchev? kiriakov? borimirov?

yeah bojinov has been unlucky, got injured early. He has supposed to be doing well in the reserves lately, which maybe one of the reasons they let yer man go to celtic

Stoichkov was the best striker in the world of his time. He scored what in my opinion was the best goal of the 94 World Cup, only to have it wrongly ruled out for offside. I remember it well, someone played a 60-yard pass in the air to him from the Bulgarian defence, and he smashed it on the volley first-time from about 25 yards out before it even bounced once with a defender trying to pull him back and everything, it was amazing.
Owairan's goal was definitely the best goal in the Cup because it actually stood, but Stoichkov's disallowed goal was better.

Venables considers Dunphy action

February 17, 2008

Unsuccessful Republic of Ireland managerial candidate Terry Venables is reportedly considering legal action against outspoken pundit Eamon Dunphy for comments made during the FAI’s search for a new boss.

Venables was the favourite for much of the Association’s near four-month hunt for a successor to Steve Staunton before Giovanni Trapattoni eventually emerged on top last week.

The former England, Tottenham and Barcelona boss was a favourite with sections of the Irish media and many players, but his several detractors included RTE and Irish Daily Star analyst Dunphy.

And reports on Sunday morning suggest Venables is considering a legal suit against Dunphy over the content of some of the pundit’s outbursts.
