I know what you mean. For some reason thumped is pretty shite for finding musicians.
When you post you usually get more jokey replies than real ones.Which is good and bad but mainly bad.
I've been learning to play the bodhran..is that any use to yiz? (Not being smart!)

I assume people send private messages when they're interested in joinin bands. Then when that happens you don't really need to look through the forum anymore. Plus, sometimes people give bits of advice along with the jokes, which is handy.
The joke shit is just all in good fun. For 30 seconds of extra readin you might get a giggle out of it, consider it a bonus I say.

Hey, Mr.T! Yeah, Internet forums are completely useless for finding musicians. The best way is the old fashioned approach: Put out fliers or word of mouth.
Sorry man. We have no use for anyone other than a drummer. We have one now, but he has very little time and we have heaps of gigs lined up. Pressure is on. Spread the word. Another heavy hitter wanted.
