I dyin to go to this upcoming slayer/megadath gig.

I'm tryin to convince one of my mates to go too. he's a black fella.
Might there a lot of fans at this gig that take it all a bit seriously? Would he be at risk of getting hassled?

I've been to one Megadeth show and one Slayer show.
I have seen neither racists nor nazis there - Angel Of Death lyrics notwithstanding. Nor would I expect to see them.
Metal shows are generally not that kind of scene.
It's not something I do a lot anymore, so I could stand to be corrected.

You'd have a better idea what people at gigs are like in Victoria though.

It always amuses me when people think Slayer have arm-pointing tendencies. Read the full lyrics of Angel of Death and Behind the Crooked Cross - hardly supremacist propaganda. On top of that, Tom's Hispanic and Jeff's from a Jewish background, fuck sake! And if you get any hassle from eejits, just remind them that metal can trace its roots back to a musical fusion that's at least 50% black in origin. Not to mention the long list of metal bands with members who don't fit the "white" description (ironically, Impiety from Singapore are into that Nazi shite these days, haahaahaahaahaa!!!).
