Mate of mine has a penchant for dodgy porn sites, so i've had to reinstall XP for him due to the amount of spyware, adware, virii and so forth on his machine. Going up in about an hour to reinstall software and such, i don't particularly want to go up there again any time soon, so can anyone remind me what a pc would need. I'm thinking the following:

Firefox
Codec pack (anyone reccomend a specific one?)
divx player
adaware
spybot
hijack this
avg
some firewall (zonealarm? again, reccomendations)
winamp
bittorrent

Anything else?

I think Zonealaram is still the best firewall for windows.

Install Lame as an mp3 codec.

Privoxy. It is a content filtering proxy server that runs on your machine. Just direct your browsers through it using the proxy server settings. It may require a little tweaking to get it to allow sites that you trust.

Handy for dealing with the mate who likes the porn sites.

Thanks for those lads, i'm actually headed over there tomorrow to finish the job - if he's not buggered it already that is - phew!
