Flippin' Spyware/Virus...! (1 Viewer)

I've got something seriously funky happening on my work PC again at the moment.

I think someone (not me..!) downloaded and ran a program they shouldn't have and ever since, things are screwed. I've ran up to date versions of avg and spyware doctor and I've deleted a lot of very bad looking things (one of which seemed to be a pretty comprehensive list of warez and dvds).

Things have improved slightly, but my firefox still has a browser hijack present, IE takes an eternity to open a page and Safari (the only browser that works at all) crashes after about 30 mins use.

Nah, most likely it'll be a reinstall of XP.

It sometimes takes a few updates for spyware doctor to get rid of something, can even be up to a week.

Try ccleaner, it's free and cleans all cookies and registry.

You could also try webroot's Spy Sweeper which can fix hijacked browsers.

spybot search & destroy has a lot of useful tools hidden
in the advanced menu....

Including a very detailed list of programs in the startup and whether they are good or bad.

I have yet to see firefox hijacked.... must be a nasty one
