If a player attacks with 3 against a defenders 2 and the defender wins on both dice does the attacker lose all 3?

North America and Africa were swiftly vanquished by moi ... black team
nearly succeeded in destroying the blue team and the blue team had
a good chance at conquering North America, while controlling Australia, but squandered it.
Then we had a game of poker which I should have won but I got far too drunk.

whats the minimum number of players for risk?

You can play with two, we had three which isn't ideal as it's a lot easier to achieve certain missions.
Can still have a decent game though, there was a lot of shouting, alliance and betrayal.
I'd say five players is probably ideal.

I've never played the "Mission" way of winning the game. Only ever played for world domination.
