nigglebath walking home from work:

hmm, nice day. The best days this week have been
1. Wednesday
2. Monday
3. Thursday

Tuesday was okay in places

Gets home, has dinner:
I like this dinner, Mrs Nigglebath. So far, your best dinners have been:
1. The burgers you made in July
2. Christmas dinner last year
3. The left over gazpacho I found in the fridge yesterday

ah sorry fella, just buzzing offa you

I actually thought Punch Drunk Love was good, better than Hard 8 or Boogie Nights. Magnolia's still better though.

I thought Punch Drunk Love was deadly too
Spent about a half hour watching the bonus disc in confusion first trying to figure out what was going on (it's just clips from the film interspersed with trippy shit)
I think he described it as a kind of remix of the original movie (and yes, he was aware of how pretentious it sounded).
I loved this movie. It was no more pretentious than any number of films I could mention that are considered classics.
I don't think PT Anderson was being pretentious, he was just trying to tell a simple story in an unusual way but not for the sake of it. He should be applauded for not taking the obvious route and while you (not you Egg, whoever started this thread)may not like the film, I don't think it is fair to dismiss it as crap. There are many films that I don't like but I can see that they are good, well-written movies that will appeal to others, just not my cup of tea. Then there are films like The Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions (I don't include the first one because I reckon that it is good, but a little daft).
These films are just big piles of steaming poo.

*WARNING!!! PLOT REVIELING POST!!!

Am I the only person who truely hated Magnolia? It was as bad as Short Cuts, spending the entire movie waiting for something to happen, then instead of an earthquake it rains frogs... then it ends... Bollx
