April Budget
(-_-)\

Protesting the economy doesn't really sound as productive as protesting specific decisions that won't help with the economy. As well as the "Lol get your landlord to drop your rent", the Income/Pension levies in particular are shameful. My mum works in Ennis general hospital and they've closed half of it down, and she's going to be loosing out on Sundays which is where she made a lot of her money, on top of all the bullshit.

If people don't have money to spend or stable housing the economy is not going to recover.

i thought you might go with that angle -- still worth pointing out that there has been mass protest about the economy, so the normal schlubs that you're being pretty dismissive about haven't exactly been acquiescent.
but only green goblin truly understands what needs to be done to bring this backwards country forwards....just as long as someone else organises everything for him

Socialist Youth have a big enough presence in UCC as far as I know, i've only met two of them though but they were both very nice people and really sound.
Im not too sure how to contact them but they have their own bebo page here: bebo.com - Profile from Socialist Youth Cork <sycork>

People Before Profit also have people in Cork but they're mostly all on zimmerframes. http://www.people-before-profit.org/

Then there's the Workers Solidarity movement, www.wsm.ie , you've probably seen their posters around the city everywhere.

There should be enough there for ya to come to your own conclusions on organising or participating in something.
But yeah, ritualistic protesting up and down a street doesn't actually do much for you except burn a few calories, unless of course, you intend to follow Cormcolash's plan..|..|

edit: can't seem to change that Socialist Youth thingy malfunction....just click the link on the top of the youtube box.
