earlier i was listening to the soundtrack for George Romero's Creepshow. its by this guy called John Harrison who also did the soundtrack to day of the dead. its deadly but not as good as the soundtrack to DOTD which is the spookiest head fuck ever - seriously the soundtrack is enough to keep you stocked up on night terrors for a long time

dotd = dawn of the dead? cos it also stands for day of the dead...ha.
i don't think that soundtrack is particularly spooky...the main synth bit is awesome and kinda spooky - but there's loads of mad shit like the african music and the cowboy stuff which is just goofy and the mad triumphant rockin stuff like when the dad from keenan and kel decides to not kill himself and starts kickin zombies in the dick or when they're driving the trucks around...duhhh duh duh duhhh du duh du duh du dad duh daaa... hey we're talking about zombies again awesome. i'm totally gonna play some shit from the dawn soundtrack at the thumped thing.....and some emerson lake and palmer. waht the fuck is "robbie analogue" gonna play? 'hey ya' or some bullshit everyones heard a fuckin million times already?! FUCK.THAT.

mates of state - team boo. lovely fantastic pop music from a husband & wife. going through a phase of really melodic music at the moment. mp3's from second narrow's website. instrumental guitar rock for pussies. but it's nice. some cd-r's of tokyo electronic nerds.

I have been listening to Volcano (which i'm sure you all know is Edie Brickell's new album) a lot lately. I love her voice. I love it. I know someone else here likes her stuff? Mackey? You're nearly as old as me... it's you, isn't it? I'll give you that Jellyfish japanese EP too at the party next week.

My immediate reaction on reading the "Paul Simon Dead" thread title - "Hmm... Edie Brickell is single again?"

I have also been listening to Nile, to make up for not going to see them last week.

I'll probably listen to Mentally Murdered a lot over the next couple of days, to make up for not going to see Napalm Death tonight.

Andy it is the thumped christmas 'PARTY'.

Not the thumped christmas 'oh shit lets turn up late cos fogarty is gonna play a load of anal shite that no one but him wants to hear'.

nah, i meant the day of the dead soundtrack
the dawn of the dead one just makes me want to run around and kick zombies in the balls
like the way the rocky soundtrack makes people want to fight

the day soundtrack is much more weird and spooky. i've been trying to pick it up on ebay but its hard enough to come across

definitely play some Goblin tho!

Today I is listenin' to...

EARTHMONKEY - AUDIOSAPIEN (Beta Lactam Ring Records)

Earthmonkey is the new incarnation of the infamous(?) Peat Bog, resident of the wesht of Ireland, front man of The Inflatable Sideshow, and cohort of Aranos and Steve Stapleton of Nurse With Wound. What you get is a kind of krautrock meets progrock meets psyche meets avant jazz meets Nurse With Wound stylee menacing noises. The Nurse influence of course due to the fact that Stapleton produced and contributed to the album. VERY nice.

Also listening to a Beta Lactam sampler I got with the Earthmonkey. Stuff by loadsa people, like Nurse With Wound, Legendary Pink Dots, Whitelodge, Volcano The Bear, Martin de Keer (sp?), Sound, and most intriguing of all, an outfit called Christ And The Cosmonaughts, whose contribution is one of the oddest pieces of music I think I've ever heard. It's like listening to Syd Barrett, The Wicker Man Soundtrack, Aphex Twin, Nurse With Wound and John Carpenter all at the same time.....

i totally misread what you were saying and started rambling on about dawn.
hey guys it must be at least 4 or 5 days since i mentioned how amaizng hte texas chainsaw massacre soundtrack is! shame it's not available - i might copy it direct from the DVD.

andrew

oh man 'Volcano the Bear' - i dare anyone to find me a worse singer than that guy...
is that the gimmick? it's completely insane. i'd love them without the singing.
NOWPLAIN!!! - uh i have nothing on yet...it'll either be 36 Chambers or Vibracathedral Orchestra or Dead Machines. time to bust out the 10 sided dice

wow, he's still around?

he used to play all fucked-up digeridoo with a band called Big Bag of Sticks, kind of a crusty raggle-taggle band, then he quit

i was planning on doing something like that for my kris kindle cd
just recording stuff from various deadly films

hmmm must get started on that tonight

Right now I'm trying to be as quiet as possible. Every mouse click is like a hammer!

Totally agree with Andy about Jailbreak 'mazing. Where did you get Volcano, brady? Yea bring that Jellyfish cd to the party, was i supposed to copy you something? Ghost Of A Dog maybe?

recently I've been listening to the CeeDees that I got for free the other week. oh i dug out Rocket FromThe Crypt RFTC the other day for a drive into town, that's a rockin album. The guitar sound on it is lovely and chunky it brings me bak to when I say them in the TBMC and speedo had that white SG with 3 pick ups. They also got the Horns nailed down on that album, makes On A Rope sound like someone who just found a trumpet! It also holds my attention all the way through, previous RFTC album tend to peak too soon. Now why havent I heard Group Sounds??

Drive By Truckers LP from this year which is a bit of a let-down after Southern Rock Opera which came out last year I think. Its great, a big double CD concept album all about Lynrd Skynrd and growing up as a big-ass redneck in Alabama.

Everyone is, of course, totally right about Jailbreak. Along with Bad Reputation is one of those rare Lizzy albums that dont have any stinkers on it. In fact, I think Bad Rep is my favourite and the first LP I ever owned. Fact. Please dont start the first album I ever owned conversation now. I'm sorry I brought it up ..
