In her song 'Mornin Glory' Iris Dement sings "You schweet little jezebel" instead of "you sweet little jezebel" like everyone else would. She does it in each chorus so it's not an accident. Proof that she is well able to pronounce the word properly can be found in the song 'Sweet Is The Melody'.

Maybe she does it because it sounds deadly

14 seconds into this she does it

Maybe she is quoting someone who speaks like that. It could have been someone's catch phrase or something

Or she unconciously laspsed into Ronan Keating territory for a moment

The chorus of the first song on one of the new prince albums is:

Like a bee to some honey
A moth to flame
You got an addiction and you got me to blame.
You never saw it comin' 'cause I made no claims 'til now
You can call it the unexpected or you can call it..wow

Bees aren't attracted to honey. Plus "pollen" would have rhymed better with "comin'" .

Iron Maiden use the same erroneous analogy in Holy Smoke

"Flies around shit, bees around honey"

The lyric display a fundamental misunderstanding in insect behaviour

Cake! Now there's a thing a bee would be attracted to.

However should the sugary delicacy get saturated by rain the insect's interest might diminish

if there was no sugar it'd be bread

unless it was sweetened with honey, in which case the bees would shun it

or agave nectar, which they would make a...beeline for

Look. There is know way you can know if there was sugar in this cake or not.

Fuck you Jimmy Webb.

Someone with that name should stick to the world of arachnids anyway

"Wings" would be the ideal band to inform of of all things insect related

theres a Super Furry Animals song called Ohio Heat. I always thought this line;

"like sugar from the bee"

made no sense. Then I discovered it was actually';

"like sugar from the beet"

which makes lots of sense

I need to apologise to them.

I've mentioned this lyric in "Love is a many splendored thing" before;

"Once on a high and windy hill,
In the morning mist two lovers kissed and the world stood still,"

Which is it for fucks sake , windy or misty?

Do lyricists not discuss things with meteorologists or what? One would assume not!

Infuriating.

Maybe they were in San Francisco?
