Obnoxious pronunciation (1 Viewer)

That is basically the dublin accent though, The south side accent where the t is barely present and the h seems to last forever is way more nasty.

Other ones I hate are

Ciaran pronounced keern or even keerin. Fucking Horrible.

Against pronounced again. Makes my skin crawl.

All southside-isms like Ort and Fock Morto.

And anyone who uses internet or text phrases in real life. BRB and LOL should never be heard in conversation ever.

But by far the worst the one which irritates me more than anything else in modernity.

People who say or write "Soz" instead of sorry.

You are apologising the fucking least you can do is have the respect to spell the whole fucking word. I demand apologies for apologies if they include that word. usually they are something like this

"Soz

What the fuck is that supposed to mean you disrespectful cunt

What ? I said SORRY what more do you want ?

You didn't say fucking sorry, you said "SOZ" there is a massive fucking difference between fucking SOZ and FUCKING SORRY.

eh.. okay sorry.

It's grand, don't mention it."

I've been working a lot in UCD lately. All the kids in their early 20s use LOL as a spoken word. Not L-O-L... Loll. I asked a girl recently if she was the conductor of the choir to which she replied "Oim troying to be... Loll" and what annoyed me the most was that she wasn't even remotely laughing, let alone laughing out loud.

The next step will be stony facedly saying emoticons

I've a really bad habit of saying "that's hilarious" when responding to something I've been told about someone. Its totally out of context and said with a completely straight face and without sarcasm. I ought to be saying "that's ridiculous" or "thats highly unusual" or "that's really cheeky".

Pronounced the silent t in often. Also cockneyisms like Fink instead of think. Basically English accents. Welsh or Scottish I love though.

There's a scottish guy on a forum I use that insists on writing every post in Broons/Oor Wullie speak

What a complete ba' heid

I use a lot of these, picked up from my granny, who's from Donnycarney.

For example: instead of saying "You should have heard this fellow", I say: "Ye shoulda hearn yer man".
A southside accent with northside-isms thrown in. Best of both worlds, imo.

I'd not regard such pronunciation as obnoxious in the least.

pronouncing "sixth" as "sick-th". seems to be a broadcasting standard. i often wonder if there's an actual technical reason rte presenters do this - who knows... maybe the x makes for too much hiss. drives me a bit mental anyway.
