Re: NTL Broadband

Mines floating about the 10 mark according to that.

Musta been 20 for about a month.

Re: NTL Broadband

Anyone else have cable with these morons?

All the movie channels are child-locked out til 7pm or some bollocks.
You need a PIN just to see the channels you're paying for.

Infuriating so it is.
Is there any way around it?

not NTL, but I have the same thing with Sky Digital. The channels are child-locked til 8pm.

The PIN for Sky is the last 4 digits on the back of the viewing card. I'm sure NTL must have something similar.

I know the PIN. I just don't want to enter it every single time I click on a channel.
To scroll through 10 channels and see what's on them would require me to press 70 (fucking 70!) buttons. I am simply unwilling to live like that.

can't you disable that in the setup menu?

I will give that a go, thanks.
Although NTL themselves have said it's all Sky's fault.

Re: NTL Broadband

We have NTL/Chorus/UPC but don't have the movies channels.
However, if you press

menu->settings->pin settings->parental control

the first option that comes up is Parental Lock.

Re: NTL Broadband

On another issue.
After a recent 'software update" the volume control on the UPC remote no longer works on the tv.

This happen anyone else?

Re: NTL Broadband

Hooray, I'm useful!

To answer my own question, here's how to program (or re-program, in my case) your UPC remote so it controls your tv too.
A list of codes is included from page 35.

Re: NTL Broadband

the volume controls on my upc remote don't control the volume on the tv (sony bravia). this is meant to be normal behaviour, but has anyone found a way around this??
