new weezer album (2 Viewers)

It takes a few listens to get into but I like it, Dreamin' is probably my favourite track and there's a nice cover of The Weight on the bonus tracks too.

It's nowhere near as good as Pinkerton and Blue but I think it's better then Green, Maladroit and Make Believe.

River's lyrics seem to be getting worse on every album 'Trouble Maker' and 'Everybody Get Dangerous' are God awful.

listened a few times now. its not great.
some songs are growing on me but i am not sure if that is because of familiarity.....

2 minutes 20 seconds of song 2 is great.

some corkers, some awful shit. that said, i HATED heart songs the first few times i played it. kinda growing on me now though. hopefully bodes well for the rest of the album.

the two covers are deadly.

it's definitely better than maladroit and make believe, but the lyrics are stinking! some of it is awful, some of it is okay. there are definitely parts that make me laugh out loud unintentional or not.

I will protect you
Never disrespect you
But if you love
Then I'll be here
To sex you

Saying that it's better than Maladroit and Make Believe doesnt mean it has anything going for it. I don't think it's anything special. Boo!!. I miss Matt Sharpe. But the new Rentals EP is pretty lame also. Maybe I just miss Pinkerton. A LOT.

matt sharpe was looking for a few dates in ireland a while back but his fee was a bit excessive for someone with little or no exposure as a solo act

saw the rentals in seattle a few years back at the 'deck the hall ball' along with jawbreaker, oasis, everclear, porno for pyros, sonic youth and one other act whose name i can never recall - thought the rentals were great and love the first lp, never heard anything else by them though

oh of course not, i just think there was a time where i waited as nervously excited as a child at christmas for a new weezer album and now a little bit of that lingers on hoping they'll rediscover something. We all miss pinkerton, but he's gone now and coumo never even loved him in the first place. Help me matt sharpe your my only hope.

'cold dark world' is a fucking terrible song. the brian bell song is pretty rubbish too. the pat song just sounds like the special goodness, which i have no problem with.

Pinkerton always ends up on the stereo around this time of year. You know when the summer kicks into overdrive and you start pining after every girl who glances at you walking down the street. Jaysus, I sound like a seemy Bulmers ad.

I really like maladroit, better than that soulless piece of crap that is the green album

(except the two singles off it)

I also liked most of the Rentals 2nd album, could have done with less tracks though

well with the green album they seem almost like they were trying to get back to the blue album, coumo hated pinkerton. there were some pretty okay songs on the green album and although it didn't stand up to the previous albums it seemed a lot better in respect of the next two. i find maladroit really bitty kind of like a collection b-sides or something, keep fishing was about it. make believe was soulless piece of crap, manky stuff.

yeah first two rentals albums are sweet. man with two brains is a classic song.
