we need stats, stat. where can we get some stats?

anyway, it kinda proves my point when no one can remember whether harry scored or not.

Kewell's form for Liverpool in the 2005-06 English Premier League season showed what he was truly capable of, scoring goals and plenty of assists, lending support to his assertion that his prior mediocre performance was the result of poor health rather than apathy. Kewell scored his first league goal at Anfield in over 2 years when Liverpool beat Spurs 1-0 in January, he was also the only scorer when Liverpool beat Man City 1-0 at Anfield and scored the last goal in a 3-1 win over Everton in one of his best displays of the season. Kewell was also one of Liverpool's best performers in the FA Cup semi final win over Chelsea which Liverpool won 2-1.

On April 30, 2007 Kewell made his comeback from almost a year out of club football. He came on as a 55th minute substitute for Liverpool F.C. Reserves in a 'mini-derby' against Everton F.C. Reserves. On May 5, 2007, he came on as a substitute in the second half of Liverpool's match against Fulham at Craven Cottage, having not played for Liverpool since his substition in 2005-06 FA Cup Final. On May 13th 2007, Harry came on as substitute in the second half against Charlton in the last game of the Premiership. Speculation on whether he was to be selected in Liverpool's upcoming Champions League Final in Athens rapidly became positive for Kewell after providing an excellent game against Charlton. Harry provided a cross in for Dirk Kuyt to assist towards a Xabi Alonso goal and then scored a penalty on the 90th minute. He played in the Champions league Final in Athens, coming on as a second half substitute for Bolo Zenden.

pennants peach was in the 2 nil win over chelsea.

Harry won me a score off a mate the season before when I drunkenly bet he'd score more goals that season than Scholesy.

There's a shocking amount of deadwood at Pool.

Are their scouts shit or something? How come they can't buy anyone good apart from obvious cunts?

you're like fucking wordsworth. amazing.

yep there sure is, but even still liverpool do have a fairly decent squad. lacking in a couple of positions but its by no means a poor 23 man squad

i'd say it's the 4th best squad in the premier league.

seriously though, i can't believe that the likes of kewell, pennant, riise, hyypia, arbeloa, few others regularly turn out. If they were to leave tomorrow, they'd be going to pretty mediocre clubs. You don't need a team packed with stars to be succesful, but you do need players more competent than the likes of those lads.

there's too big a gap between the wheat and the chaff at pool.

the same could be said of players at united, arsenal and chelsea. i don't think it's the squad that's the problem, sure we could do with a class striker, a class winger and agger's injury was pretty unfortunate, but it's more to do withthe selection. you have torres, you play kuyt and porno (birmingham at home) you get what you deserve. you pick one up front against a team in teh bottom 3, AT HOME< you get what you deserve. you give up and take off your best players with 30 mins ago (rading away) you get what you deserve. we were unlucky not to beat chelsea, and hyypia had a bad day against spurs that time, but other than that, we've lost points where benny has picked a poor side. blackburn away, we should have won, city away, ditto. persevering with kuyt is mistifying. even porno would be better, he has a better touch. you spend 10 mil on a class player, babel, you don't play him, you moan about never having enough wad. players like riise, arbeloa etc make up numbers. you cna't have 23 class acts, it never works, but benny hasn't decided his best 11 yet, and it's frustrating. finally he's stopped resting torres and gerrard, co he realises he's fucked without them, and finally we copuld have had something resembling a settled team.. and then what? he changes tactics and players? i tell ya, it's brainwronging.

i beg to differ
we have 3 good defenders - carra , finnan and agger - sami is a lej too
but a bit passed it but defo worthy of a top 4 squad
midfield abundance in centre and nothing on the wings - bab and bena
the only ones worthy of being in top squad and neither would ever really start for man u , chels or arsenal in my book
up front we have a big phallus in torres and a pair of bollox in crouch worth a place in the squad i reckon and then two shitebags

having 4 really good centre mids always makes our squad look better than it is and then top that with a class act like torres you can hide gaps other fuckwits are leaving behind - they are defo there

not saying its a perfect squad but it aint as bad as it is sometimes made out to be. you desperately need a defender and a left winger (what happened with leto ? he was supposed to be decent). Its seems as though the record transfer for a defender is about to be broken so thats one down.

city are after nasri and mancini. these are players rafa is int and players we should buy. if city can out muscle us on spending power, hold onto their manager, who, lets not forget, has an excellent record with club teams, and continue to fill their brand spanking new stadium, we can start planning without the champions league. and ergo, without cash.

liverpool need to buy big, they need to compete. that#s what it's like now. that squad aint finished yet. mancini would be a great buy. if we miss him city have petrov, elano, mancini, that's 3 wingers. we have pennant and kewel. disaster looms.

do liverpool really need another centre mid in Nasri ? I would even go so far to say that liverpool dont really need to be paying 17 million for mascherano. that 17 mill could be used to pick up a top class winger ( if money was tight that is )

your right though, mancini would be a great signing for liverpool

assume momo is gone, and take into account the 3 months alonso missed. do that next season without masch and what have you got?

nasri is more of a wanderer than a settle centre mid. he can do the wings. plus, he's class.

nasri would be a good signing; but he's young, and like babel, will need a good bit of time to develop.

i personnally don't think masch respresents good value. Handy player as he is, when liverpool need to break down teams, and this has been their failing, he's usually a passenger.

pool still sniffing about quaresma? it could go either way with him, but i reckon he's worth a pot.
