I use a hand grinder because you get better results using one that has a burr rather than a blade, and the electric burr ones are mad dear.

I have one of them hand burr grinders, I gave up using it because it's a pain in the hole. it adds an extra couple of minutes to the time it takes to make a cup of coffee and I'm not sophisticated enough to recognize the difference between freshly ground beans and pre-ground supervalue coffee.
