after having lodged a complaint with the financial ombudsman about how a particular company have dicked me about, they can't examine my issues about how badly said company handled the complaint i raised with them; i'll have to make a formal complaint about my complaint and wait for a response. hopefully they won't tell me to raise a complaint about my complaint about my complaint if the response isn't satisfactory.

i should point out that there are issues i did raise which they can look at. however, as i did not address the utter inadequacy of the complaints process with the company itself (even though they wrote to me and said 'if you're dissatisfied with how we've handled your complaint, go to the ombudsman'), the ombudsman cannot address those issues till i do.

What's the deal with dynamic flight pricing? I put a flight on watch on google flights a while back and the price fluctuates wildly. Today I got an email that it has dropped from €928 to €535. A few weeks ago I got a notification that it had dropped from €750ish to €470. I think it went to €650ish before going €900+

i have what i think is the flu. slept for an hour earlier at about 11am. went for a second nap around 2pm and woke up five minutes ago.

my mouth tastes like something died in there.

have heard of three cases of covid this evening (none i'd have been exposed to, though), maybe i do have covid even though i tested negative.

My ears are totally blocked with wax since last weekend. Had an appointment to get them cleared out this morning - and I forgot about it Bollocks

Sorry to hear that egg. It's totally awful.
I've borrowed the hair clip trick that I read on this very forum and pulling wax out regularly. It has certainly helped with the build up.

Also I typed "certainly" because I couldn't be bothered trying to spell "definitely".

Getting the wax cleared out when they're totally blocked up though, it's one of the greatest fuckin things ever when you walk out of the place and start getting bombarded by noise. About 9 years ago mine got bad over a period of about a year, and when I eventually got round to getting them cleared out, because my brain had become so accustomed to 'listening harder' to everything, suddenly it was like I had actual super hearing, I was hearing conversations about 20 metres away and shit.

i regularly do what it says not to do on the cotton bud packet - insert them into the inner ear. have a shower, and about ten minutes later have at it. that's usually when the wax is softest.

I had to attend an ear specialist several years ago and he said to NEVER use cotton buds. You can use a tissue to clear the wax around the outer part of the ear, but the stuff inside is there for a reason, and you shouldn't fuck with it.

If you have a buildup of wax your body is likely fighting an infection.

I got the silicone one cotton bud for life thingy a few years ago. The silicone head detached inside my ear and i had to extract it with a tweezers. Still using it but only out ear thing. I didn't know about the wax buildup thing but i live in headphones a lot so there is that.

Cotton buds, as well as potentially perforating your eardrum, tamp the wax into your ear so you end up blocking your ears up with them. The hair clip method is the way to do it
