Meeting People / Aspergers (3 Viewers)

That doesn't really give people an excuse to be pushy advice when they recieve some good indication it doesn't apply. It's not lack of knowledge, it's lack of willingness to learn.
Okay, I think you're fully aware that abusing people and using profanities is not a way to ingratiate yourself with anyone, whether you're pissed off with them or not.

Not one person, yourself included, is going to be the slightest bit bothered learned about your condition, or anything for that matter if it's delivered with the abusive tone you're using.

I haven't seen anyone try to push their "advice", or suggestions. You appear to be choosing to read people's posts in a certain way and I think that's part of the problem here.

You unbelievable twat.

Did you miss that you quoted this in your post? This is a great retort to "Stop defining yourself by your Asperger's. Carrying it around like a cross won't help you.". You made a post that was already refuted by what you were quoting. How incredibly hamfistedly stupid can you get?

I'm getting sick of this. Anytime anyone mentions the limitations of a condition they have, or their social skills in general, out comes some loudmouthed dumbfuck with no clue and the DON'T BLAME EVERYTHING ON YOUR CONDITION HURR.

Well, what horrible condition do you have to blame your extreme ignorance and stupidity on exactly?

I've had enough of you twats.

Right, I'm going to let someone else give a mature reply to this cause I'll just be horrible.

You could start by looking for advice/help/consoling/support from an aspergers support forum and not seeking the advice randomers on the web. (How very boards mod of me).

I've just had a listen to Dead Can Dance, not my cup of tea but....

Don't phantom fm have a show dedicated to this Dead Can Dance music? Spiral Stares I think its called.

Voila....http://www.phantom.ie/content/view/159/200/

And.....http://dominion.gothic.ie/

Don't Frazer's on O'Connell st run a night into this sort of music? I remember wandering in there looking for metal and hearing this kind of thing.

If not, someone on www.MetalIreland.com will know, there is often goth/industrial/post-rock/indie threads on there.

NOW ALL YOU NEED IS A BUS TICKET TO DUBLIN. I'm offering here and now to pay for it.

goblin, you shouldnt let whats going on in this thread let you get angry, likewise to people who've been annoyed by goblin. theres a great disparity of understanding with aspergers, so a lot of the replies you'll get might seem insensitive.

i'm sympathising with the goblin because i nearly started this thread on many's an occasion, as i would also really like it if somone told me how to deal with relationships while similtaneously dealing with a condition that effects my ability to socialise.

the big challenge is that you have to integrate explaining your social ticks with getting to know people.. this is the best way forward. this is what the goblin (in my opinion) needs help with. the first thing i noticed about the aspergers wiki is that its very long winded... goblin, have you found any literature that has a short definition of the social elements of aspergers, that could be used within the confines of pub conversation??? i'm sure you meet people dude, but the disparity factor (in my experience) is the big hurdle.

i've found that trying to make up comical ways of explaining my condition helps a lot, so that if i can explain it in a way thats funny, so its easier for folk to swallow.

Well you do mention aspergers constantly and just because you stick a line in a post that says you don't define yourself by it certainly doesn't mean you won't come across as doing just that anyhow. If I say I'm not an arsehole but still act like one, what do you think people will think of me?

Your shitty tone and abuse still makes you look like an arsehole though, if you're nice to people in general it'll be easier to make new friends. Are you like this in real life too. Like do you abuse people once you get to the point where you've decided they don't get what your saying at all?

It's nice to be nice no matter the other person says or does.

thank you.

By the way I am actually really really angry about this. I wouldn't normally be on the offensive as much as this, I'm normally very passive. But I can't look at what's been said and think what I said in reply is wrong either.

Okay, I think you're fully aware that abusing people and using profanities is not a way to ingratiate yourself with anyone,

But you're making a simple mistake here - with the attitudes shown here, I'm merely making it clear I do not wish to integrate with certain people here. I really do think some of you are unbelievable twats and I'm finding it hard to express exactly why I think that, but some kind of core arrogance and pretentiousness.

Anyway, like I said I've had enough so I'm off for the evening.

Doesn't really matter what you think of people you still can't speak to them like you do.
