Is this 'Giggs for player of the year' claptrap gonna stop soon, or is he gonna get a tokenistic gong for his 'years of service'?

i don't think you'll get more tokenistic than the league title everyone else is falling over themselves to present to united this year.

More falling over from ye at the weekend, thanks lads. I can only imagine it's Liverpool being generous and wanting other clubs to concentrate on Europe just like they do.

Gary Neville's gaf. Note 'MUFC' written in hedges.

Squeeky bum time has gotten a lot squeeky-er... I thought we'd drop a point against Liverpool after the way they played against Real but didn't see us dropping 6 in two games.

Agaisnt Inter we looked scared when we got into the last third which resulted in either terribe crossing or the midfield just giving the ball away. Big changes are needed I'd stop playing Giggs and Scholes in the same games for a start....

playing scholesy won't be a problem for a couple of games...

Fergie would want to calm down Rooney and give Ronnie a good talking to for a start. They both came off looking very bad at the end of the Fulham game. They were also completely useless once Liverpool took control at Old Trafford. United actually need Giggs on the pitch as there aren't that many leaders in team in the Keane or Robson mould.

Gary Neville is a role model for Liverpool's children

A Conservative MP has proved that football and politics do not mix by advising youngsters in Liverpool to look up to Gary Neville.
Chris Grayling, the Shadow Home Secretary, put his foot in it when he told the home affairs committee that the Manchester United captain was the perfect role model for the disaffected youth of Merseyside.
"I have spent time on the streets of Toxteth with some very good youth workers, who told me that kids are growing up without any parental guidance at home," Grayling said. "If I was to pick out a good role model, it would be Gary Neville, an estimable professional over a long period of time."
Neville, who has played for United for 17 years, has made no secret of his hatred of Liverpool. "I can't stand Liverpool,” Neville said. “I can't stand Liverpool people, I can't stand anything to do with them."

You seem to have omitted an integral part of the United squad for yesterday there mate :p

What a finish, once the second goal went in you just knew that we would score again especially with the 5 minutes of extra time. I cursed Fergie when he brought Macheda on (thinking that Wellbeck would've been the best of a bad bunch to bring on) but I guess that's why he's the gaffer and I'm not.

Hopefully Rooney will continue his Engerland form for us on Tuesday night and that we don't concede a precious away goal.

Haha Sure did! what a goal! Hopefully a clean sheet and a couple of goals tomorrow night to get back into the flow of winning again!

Ye can't be very happy with that. Thought United had got away with it tonight but there's real problems with the teams confidence at a very bad time of the season. Credit to Porto though, they looked pretty good in fairness.

Not overly bothered, they'll do enough to scrape through in the second leg.

Over confidence from a Man U fan, well I never. I seem to recall you announcing back in February that Liverpool would be 'well out of it' in the Premiership by the time the Madrid game came around. United were muck tonight as they have been for the last few and you were lucky not to let in more. I fancy Porto to go through on away goals, unless of course you're sure.

Utd do look rocky now and if I was a fan i'd be worried. They seem to have peaked too early in the season and now they are troubled with injuries and a lack of confidence. I thought the confidence would flood back after the Villa win but last night was poor. I wouldn't like to be going to relegation-battling Sunderland this weekend.
