Broke my foot yesterday. June in a boot.
My auld lad retired in April, has been loving putting his feet up since then. Left the house for the first time last week (apart from going for a short walk or cycle) and broke his kneecap coming out of a shop.

Thanks a lot there grate matez.
It happened just walking out the back door and rolled it on the step. I heard crackling noises! Immediately put it up with ice on it but it started to swell and get tight. About an hour later I asked to be brought to A&E. Eventually saw a doc who said it didn't look broken but will xray it anyway. Turns out it was broken. In a boot for June/July.

Could have been worse. I have had constant low level pain in that ankle for ages so I made sure the xrays took that in too.

Ouchhh. Hmmm I've had a funky ankle since I was a teenager, maybe I should get it looked at. Basically my left foot always gets sore long before my right foot does. Not to any inconvenient amount, but its kind of funny, like if I'm standing for a long period my left ankle will get achy and my right ankle won't. It's never caused me any real bother but it's kind of funny. I first starting really noticing it when I was working in a supermarket, where I'd be standing at the till for hours at a time so ya know basically just standing in one spot the whole time. That's another thing, if I'm walking around and moving and changing positions often then it won't start aching at all, it just hates standing in one spot, ha. Maybe it's just like a natural kind of thing, just it's weird that my right ankle would never get as achy.

Both my ankles are super fucked from skating. But the worst is the right one......not from skating. I jumped over a wall, knowing the other side was bigger than the side I jumped from. I didnt anticipate I was about to land on a tree stump though.

I was about halfway between my house and the hospital( usually about 10 minutes walk tops),I decided to crawl home.next morning crying in pain I go the hospital. They couldnt figure out why there was nothing broke with the amount of damage to the muscles etc. So they figured my ankle had popped out then back in.
No boys then they sent me home, told me to shave my leg up to my knee and come back, then they bandaged me with medical tape.

That was nearly as bad pulling the tape off a few weeks later.

Is one leg longer than the other? It's not uncommon. Also fallen arches are a possibility. And sciatica is totes the best thing EVAR!
I'm the same as you pretty much, it all hurts, but one side more than the other. Standing still is impossible but I'll happily do 26 hour days at work. I've offended a few friends by leaving their gigs early. "It's not that I can't stand it, I just literally can't stand".

A GP won't do much for you, but ages of physio will make a difference. Other than that, get your muscles as strong as you can, and eat well. Alcohol helps once in a while, but long term it fucks up all your muscles and bones and joints.

Ah I don't get it anywhere near bad enough for it to be anything like sciatica, and it's definitely not fallen arches. I mean most days it's not even noticeable. Actually maybe the main time I would notice it now would be standing watching a gig right enough, especially after a day of work or something and if it's not a very good gig so I'm not really getting into the music.
Possibly my left leg is very slightly longer than the right, I don't notice any difference but I've never had them measured. What is for sure though, my left foot is to me noticeably broader than my right foot, to the extent that I can basically wear a half size larger on the left foot with no real slippage. I generally don't have much problem with the same size shoe on both feet though, as long as the shoes themselves are of a kind of broad make. If the shoes are a narrower kind of make, my left foot really fuckin feels it. More formal shoes are a fucking nightmare for that kind of thing, then I usually have to do something like wear a size larger with thick socks, but then again I don't buy shitty shoes like that these days.

This all sounds very familiar.
I put my ankle pain down to nerve or tendon pain. I'd taken to massaging them. Some area would be absolute agony to press on with my thumb. Almost addictivly painful. I'd be watching TV while rubbing my foot in bouts of horrific pain. Keep doing this until it goes away. Really helped. I can't even find those pain spots now. I'd go looking for more.
I went to the GP about it once. "Go to a foot specialist, €60 please".
I did go foot and ankle specialist a good while back. She very confidently said "I can fix this, it'll be €500". I was broke at the time so didn't go any further. I was actually thinking of going back there last week. Now this.

I used to twist my ankles something rotten when I was a kid. Like on the very regular. Agony.

The doctors made me wear clogs. You know, for kids. Mostly cured it.

Still happens from time to time, and it's still fucking agony when it does.

But mostly I've been very lucky with things.
