A famous five adventure sounds like a great plan...i stayed in the castle on Monday last and it definatley has an eerie feeling about it but it is so old and beautiful! It starts quite early on Sunday about 9am as there is a very kool surprise in place. Plus there are local boy and girl scouts visiting as well as the hot air balloons take off! :p

is there any possibility to head down on friday night and camp? cos i'd say there'll be a fair few heading down saturday morning.

There's an 11:00am train from Heuston which takes about an hour.

Before that its like 7:15 and 8:30(not sure exactly). Much too early for anyone civilized.

Actually 11am on a Saturday morning is pushing it too, but sure with the gates opening at 11:30, I'll still be a half hour late.

I need to find out what time the last trains are on Sunday night back to Dublin cuz I'll want to stay the whole day.

If I find out I'll post it later. Sorry Herv, this reply actually didn't address your question at all. I'm just wanted to pass this info on here.

Maybe I'll get the schedule of the trains and post it here.
Oh, I do know that its 24Euro round trip.

Laters potaters,

Thomas

From the mor e-mail:

Full details regarding camping, travel, parking and
guidelines will be posted on the website next
Wednesday.

Daily line-up and times will be posted on the week of
the festival

mór regrets that there is strictly ‘no’ camping at Charleville Castle on Friday or Sunday night owing to insurance and security matters. Please respect this.

For those travelling down from Dublin on Saturday, we
recommend you take the train. There are a number of
services on Saturday www.irishrail.ie Buses will only
be provided for the return trip to Dublin on Sunday
night. These will run late. Tickets for these will be
sold at the castle only.

How far is it from the Castle?

As a local, I can tell you that Geashill is about five miles from Tullamore. Not very practical. There isn't really a campsite near the town I can think of... lots of big empty fields tho...

For anyone who is planning to go down on the Friday, there is a gig in Joe Lee's pub, featuring Boxes, Holy Ghost Fathers and MAYBE Rollers/Sparkers.

Park Geashill Tullamore Co. Offaly, Tel:0506 43760

Is that where your staying or are you going to camp nearer?

I can't wait for this might have to rob me brothers

I think there's only one of those poles and confusion
ones in our house.

What day are you heading down Hoiv?
